My thesis was presented! I created a book that poses
the possibility of expressive information, through the
merging of personal narrative with statistics, and
ornament with phonetics. I'll soon have far more
explanatory documentation...

Eileen Levinson and I loved the fact that this visiting
artist poses fake events as real, like selling real
estate of an imaginary island. So we decided to
create an homage to Kerbel, Patty Hearst, and the
1972 Munich Olympics.

It's almost here!!!!! You better come, it's going to
be a killer show - we have an edible poster, half-
inch button starburst, pillow letterforms, silkscreen
coffin, and a one-of-a-kind digital photobooth!

I had the pleasure of being a teaching assistant for
this renown French designer's workshop. I also
designed this glittery, dancing poster with Silas
Munro to announce Philippe's lecture.

Roseanne Wong and I, as the most Senior Chinese
Persons in the program, designed this poster that
celebrates the power animal of 2008.

Laurie O'Brien, an amazing puppeteer and artist,
asked me to design the postcard for an exhibition
she co-curated that collects the works of artists that
have played off each other.

We're organizing the department's mid-year show -
different interpretations on the theme of passion.
Nikki and I just finished designing and programming
the website, and we're getting loads of submissions.

I designed this "time-based" poster for Laurie O'Brien.
She adapted Franz Kafka's classic tale for the stage,
and wanted a mysterious, ghostly tone for the poster.

A Visiting Artist poster for this pair of gender-
bending performance artists.

Harmen Liemburg, master designer and silkscreener,
visited our poor, inferno-infested hamlet all the way
from Amsterdam. I felt so lucky to be able to design
a Visiting Designer poster for him.

I'm in Target! An awesome company, called
Greenroom Eco, makes recycled and sustainable
paper products. I redesigned their identity and
then created several lines of journal designs for
mass-market sale.

Writer Joe Potts and I are collecting writing and
ephemera for a limited-edition book project
sponsored by the CalArts Alumni Fund. The
book will be designed by me, so submit your
entries here now!

We just finished a really fun workshop with Swiss
designer Laurenz Brunner. My group studied hair
salons and we made abstract compositions of fallen
hair clippings on the ground. Then Silas Munro and
I made a visiting artist poster for him.

08.22.07 // Same same but different.

I've just returned from travelling through
Tokyo, Bangkok, Cambodia, Vietnam and Laos over
the past nine weeks! What an amazing journey -
thank you to all of the wonderful and kind people
I was so lucky to meet!
